Ok let's see - we have an image hosted on a profile that is 1 day old and asks you to visit a website with a strange url with a promise of a financial reward on an another website. How do you even imagine that would work? And now, of course, people start crying that their computers got infected with malware. Which is great - every genius who fell for this obvious phishing scam deserved it. I hope your shitty computer burns and you along with it.
I know this is a no-duh for 90% of people reading it but for the sake of the rest lets revise what we all should know about online phishig. And before you go all:

Opinions are a Dangerous thing: Art StylesThis isn't about narking on anyone no, infact this is just my own muses really! You could say this is a journal for ENCOURAGEMENT! *SHINES*
I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

What I personally find the hardest to draw is feet and hands. I found that with a lot of practice and a lot of frustrating mistakes my feet and hands actually look at the very least almost the way i want them to be.
Now my favorite Style of drawing is Anime or sometimes semi-realism, and i find that by doing studies of the more traditional style realism actually helps improve my anime pictures greatly. For instance i would practice drawing my hands and feet in different positions holding different things and from different angles. I also find it extremely helpful while i'm drawing and i'm having a particularly hard time drawing a hand or a foot in a certain position i will stop for a

7 years!

It has been 7 years to the day that I have joined this amazing community! So much has happened in that time that it just baffles my mind. I've technically been here for 9 but never knew I could make a free account until 2 years had past of me stealing amazing desktop wallpapers while bored at work. This place has become my second home. I can't thank you all enough for making this place so warm and inviting. Even with the dArama from time to time I wouldn't trade my friends and experiences on this site for anything in the world. Watching this community grow from the outside looking in and seeing where it is headed with all the new innovations coming from the inside looking out is simply breath taking. I just want you all to know how proud I am to call my self a deviant!

To help celebrate this amazing day I'm going to be hosting a mini contest! Do you think you're up for the challenge?

The Contest

To help commemorate what brought me here in the first place this contest will be based around desktop wallpapers.

I burn through desktops pretty fast! Every time I see a new one I just cant resist wearing it for a few days. I think I go through more wallpapers than I do underwear!

I have been using:

For a couple of weeks or so now and love it! It's clean, minimal and has the perfect nod to the site we all know and love. That being said I can always use more dA related desktops!

Your task is to make me a new deviantART inspired wallpaper. Here's some simple guides to follow should you choose to enter:

I'm a minimalist at heart so it can have some pizazz but it shouldn't be over done.
If you're using Fella in your design please use the newer updated versions of him that `thekidKaos has created. You can find them in his gallery. You may also try your hand and creating him yourself so long as it fits with the recent branding.
My monitor is 1920 x 1200 pixels so it should be no smaller than that. (extra points if you make an iPhone/iPod touch version ;))
It should be deviantART related. That being said, you can push this to the limit. My avatar is a pikachu and that's on dA so it still counts if you use the dA colour scheme or something like that ;)
HAVE FUN!

Once you have made your desktop you can upload it to your gallery and shoot me a note with a link or thumb. Please label the note "bdAy desktop" or something similar so I know what it is. I get a lot of notes recently and I would hate for it to be lost in the confusion. Once received I will add the deviation to the features section below. A winner will be announced friday the first of October.
