A few months back I finally broke down and purchased a person domain @chriscarey.info. A few days after that I was so inspired by Tim Vandamme that I modeled my site after his e-card site. He wasn't the first to make one, but they had all just about gone the way of the do-do until he reinvented it with his gorgeous UI. Taking subtle cues from him and incorporating my favourite colours and own unique style I've come up with what you see here.

Just recently I enlisted the services of our very own (and extremely talented) `Solitude12 to help me with the coding and javascript needed to bring my vision to life. After only a few short days he had finished and I was blown away... I think my exact words were "I just came". It's really stunning how he was able to take my idea and instill it with the awesomeness I knew it to be capable of. And after a few minor tweaks by me I can't express how proud I am of this.

A bit on how it works:
There are three main pages. A social page, listing my most used social website links. A connect page, that gives a brief description of who I am and what I am capable of (mainly for potential clients). And a contact page, which lists my business contact information and recreational information such as emails and IM clients.
Along the right of the dark grey box there are three buttons that when hovered fade into that luscious green (man i love that green) and when you click the button the rounded corner panel that has my logo (my name) slides down to hide the current set of information and when it rises again it displays the new page corresponding to the button clicked prior. Hovering over content gives that plush raised effect.
Everything about it is smooth and fresh and reflects me in so many ways it feels like a part of me. I had originally wanted to hold off on posting this design because I don't yet have a proper host for it. The reason however I am posting it is because I wanted to extend a bigger thank you to `Solitude12 and what better way than pimping his talent. It'll soon be summer for him and I can imagine he will be looking for work, so if you are in need someone with skill for a project you have planned I beg you look him up. Speed is this dudes middle name and proficient would be his surname... if he didn't already have one.

Anyway... web design isn't new to my portfolio, but it is new to dA so I would love to hear what you guys think.
EDIT
I found a temporary host! Take a gander at it live and tell me what you think! Keep in mind cmjk is still very much in the development stage so most of those links don't work.

Sometimes simple really does the job. I like the design, even if it is inspired by another. Actually I cannot penalize anyone for that, and really I am stepping out to generalize this opinion, but everyone is inspired by something or someone. Those whom you have admired, or even from what or whom you have learned.

Personally, I would probably add a blog to the site. If you are going to have a social media handle, I would recommend it. You could even just use that and install NextGen gallery (if you use WordPress) and have an even better portfolio that looks less cookie cutter and more you rather than DeviantArt's portfolio. I like DeviantArt, but after beta-ing the portfolio, I was not impressed with it and would never recommend it to colleagues who already have domains, like yourself. In fact, if you want to stand out more, you may want to break away more to brand yourself better.

I like that you did not garble your layout with bulky logos and kept things smooth. Minimalism in the case of your site has done it wonders.

The navigation is great. I did not check your code, but I have to ask... are you using jquery on it?

Amazing Piece. This piece really is quite nicely done as it is an amazing preview for one and the angle ad simplicity of it makes this piece of art so effective. I really do think that a DD was right for this because you have a wonderful layout and a wonderful plot. This piece inspired me and the millions of other people that will eventually see its amazingness. I mean I am honestly speachless when first spotting this. The way you encorporated the screenshot type feel to it really shows the uniqueness and impact that it brought to DeviantArt so I hope this helps.

The only thing I have to say besides gorgeous is, "The font used for SOCIAL and other areas is an inconsistent font which may appear neat, but seems out of place in this style."
Gorgeous job Ev
