Shadows + Echoes: Volume 03Hidden in shadows and echoes we find a world of fear and a gathering of reflections, creeping like memories into our minds, like smoke in our eyes. And here, in the darkest of places, we recognise ourselves...</i>Shadows + Echoes: Volume 03 by RockstarVanity
The horror photography gallery is a relatively small one and if you spend time browsing through it, you'll no doubt notice recurring themes. It makes sense that artists who draw inspiration from similar sources will explore similar concepts in their work, creating images that at once feel familiar as we see our own nightmares through someone else's eyes, twisted and skewed by each individual's perception.
Rather than becoming annoyed ("that's copying!") or derisive ("that's such a cliche!"), why not celebrate each other's creativity by appreciating how other artists see our dark little world? From archetypal characters and widely held phobias to props and effects that no-one c

Science Fiction art of the month v.17Science Fiction art of the month v.17Science Fiction art of the month v.17 by taenaron
This is a selection of the most beautiful and unique science fiction pictures that were submitted within the last month. We've taken our personal favourites from each of deviantart's sci-fic categories.
We are trying to find new, undiscovered artists to help them getting more attention. But of course we cannot ignore the art of the already well known artists.
If you want to see your works in this monthly feature, you just need to create pictures that fit the topic. Please don't be mad if you are not chosen this time.
Please take some time and enjoy these awesome works.

Our artist of the month is ChrisCold :iconchriscold:.
He is a quick developing artist that you should not miss. Focused on space art and science fiction he is a real enrichment for the genre
Special effects make-up: Its FAKE!Thank you to GrotesqueDarling13 for unknowingly supplying this article with a title!Special effects make-up: Its FAKE! by RockstarVanity
Before we get started
Horror art is an acquired taste and people tend to love it or hate it (or at least just not get it). If you love it, great! If you hate it or don't get it, please learn to move along politely and refrain from being insulting towards other people's creations simply because the subject matter isn't to your personal taste. If you don't get horror art and would like to chat about it, feel free to send me a note and I'll happily answer your questions as best I can.
Why it makes sense to explain your methods and materials
As most of you already know, images depicting real self-harm are not permitted on dA. If you use special effects make-up, prosthetics, fake blood or anything that looks like special effects make-up, prosthetics or fake blood in your art, you may have been asked by someone viewing your work
Hiyo! My name is Ikue (eye•coo), well my given name is Chris, but feel free to call me just about anything you wish (; Depending on what it is I may just answer you. ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°
I have been on deviantART since 2003, and let me just say I Love This Place! A little over 3 years ago I took the plunge into Community Relations and became the Moderator for the Vector Gallery. But in early 2010 I joined the ranks of the administrative $taff as a Customer Service Rep. It's great to finally give back to a community that has given me so much. Feel free to ask me any questions you may have about deviantART I'll be happy to assist you in anyway I can.
I've been working in the art field as a freelance graphic designer in the Bahamas for about 8 years. And discovered Vector work about a year into it. Since then I find any excuse to work with this medium. I love the way it pushes me to find a different route to create something that would normally be easily created in raster. - I'm gonna cut myself short there, cause' I tend to get a little too passionate about my vectors. Just know you can come to me for anything... Beware though, I may talk your ear off. I'm also a glorified Mac-Junkie, so if you know what's good for you ... steer clear o.O
If you're looking to talk to me live, feel free to check any of my usual chat haunts: #Vectorgasm, #help or #GeniusBar and if you ever need help on dAmn make sure and hook up with shuttermonkey He'll take good care of you! ;b
