Change is in the air.
I was a cruiser and desktop stealer from late 2000/early 2001 but finally took the plunge and created an account on Sep. 23, 2003! It's almost my accounts 12th birthday!
My username is named after the voice actor for Pikachu from the cartoon series Pokémon; Ikue Ōtani. When pokémon first came out I was obsessed and my folks bought me a themed calendar and I noticed her birthday linked up with a special day of my own so I adopted it as my online handle. You'll find me across the www with the handle ikue or pikachu or some combination of the two.
I choose you!
When I was little I would write with my left hand but in primary school they literally beat it out of me. I'm a righty now, and can't even fathom how to write with my left.
A desktop wallpaper I made based on a tutorial I found to teach myself Photoshop.
My favourite type of art to make is always the next piece I'm going to create. I honestly don't like to be bogged down by genre when it comes to art. There are so many different kinds and ways to make it, I just like to see where the inspiration takes me. Right now it's baking. Yesterday it was photomanips. Tomorrow it could be anything!
Calligraphy/Typography. I love to dabble, but just don't have the time to practice!
Probably digital art.More specifically Vector.
Oh man… that's an impossible question to answer! It depends on what I'm in the mood for that day. There are so many varied artists that make me squeal in delight every time one of their masterpieces graces my notifications centre I truly can't decide.
So many of you have taught me that it's okay not to fit it. That I could stray from the norm and still be loved and that I will always cherish.
Illustrator, Photoshop, Ballpoint Pen, HTML, CSS, Camera, Cooking Ingredients, whatever else I can get my hands on!
The internet! Working from home I don't get out much, so it's nice to have an enormous source of inspiration just a click away.
There are so many but one of my most vivid is from the Vector Week program I ran for projecteducate waaaay back in July of 2008. I met some of the most amazing people and shared my favourite art style at the time with some of the best artists in that genre. We talked for countless hours about art and nothing at all and formed a bond I don't think will ever be broken. It was educational for me in so many ways more than just what vector art really was. It's so hard to put into words… I just love everything about that week, even the crappy setbacks and arguments. It was such an amazing rollercoaster.
